What Does Your Zodiac Sign Say About Your Sleeping Habits
Have you ever wondered why your sleeping habits are vastly different from those of your friends or why you need less or more sleep than they do?
While genetics and lifestyle will, of course, play a part in your sleeping habits, your zodiac sign just might, too.
If you’re struggling to understand the best sleep habits for your unique situation, find out some helpful tips based on your zodiac sign below.
Taurus, you better get to bed before we even begin…
You don’t want to be around another Aries who hasn’t had a restful night’s sleep.
You're barely functional and a little bit short-tempered. At night your mind is racing, you may even feel anxious while thinking about what you can improve on tomorrow.
It will do you no good to lay awake thinking about everything you need to achieve the next day, so do yourself a favour at night and leave the list-writing for the morning. Instead, read a book and allow your eyes to tell you when you’re ready to go to sleep.
When someone tells a Taurus that they’re going to get eight hours of sleep, you can expect them to negotiate that up to 10.
Taurus love to sleep, and that’s an understatement.
Although, they are also hard workers, which is why they need all that sleep. There’s nothing wrong with taking a nap when you get home from work or curling up on the couch for a rest before cooking dinner and running errands.
As you’ll know, Taurus need that extra sleep, or they’re not all that much fun to be around.
If you’re a Gemini, you likely feel a lot of stress. Taking this to bed with you means you’re unlikely to get the 8-10 hours you need to recharge fully.
Geminis, you need to disconnect from technology and the world for the best chance of quality sleep.
Put the phone down, spend some time meditating, and drift off to sleep.
You’re the life of any party if you’re Cancer. That’s because you’re a livewire at night, and there’s simply no way to get you to fall asleep at a set time if you plan for it.
Although, once you’re asleep, you’re really asleep. The problem is getting enough sleep.
Schedule some much-needed cat naps during the day to make sure you don’t end up sleep-deprived.
Has anyone ever seen a Leo out and about during fall and winter? It’s unlikely.
Leos tend to bunker down at home as soon as the mercury plummets and stay out of the elements.
All this sleeping in fall and winter balances out the fewer sleeping hours they have in the heart of summer.
Virgos toss and turn and have more trouble sleeping than most, if not all, other Zodiac signs.
One of the most common reasons for this sleeplessness is replaying parts of the day repeatedly in their heads before eventually falling asleep.
If you’re a Virgo and you’re nodding your head to this, there’s one thing you can try – disconnecting. Turn off tech, meditate, and make your bedroom a place of rest and peace to help you drift off to sleep.
Some people might call Libras lazy, but they just really really like their sleep.
And if they don’t get enough of it, they aren’t all that pleasant to be around. You need some balance in your life, Libras.
Stop taking those cat naps, and get into a schedule that allows you to achieve the same number of hours of sleep each night.Once your sleep routine is established, you’re set up for the day.
You’re flying by the seat of your pants, and it’s all going to catch up with you soon, Scorpio.
You don’t get nearly enough sleep during the week but seem to function reasonably okay.
Then, when the weekend hits, you make up for it by getting a few extra hours. Although, if you tried meditating before and after you sleep, you might be able to improve your sleep quality and quantity.
Never try to tip-toe past a Sagittarius in slumber, as they will always hear you.
They sleep with one eye open and are more than happy to catch a few hours of sleep when they can to make up for the light sleep they achieve during the night.
There may be no way to improve the heaviness of your sleep if you’re a Sagittarius, so take those naps when you can.
Put a Capricorn and Cancer in the same room, and it’s pretty obvious who will fall asleep first – Capricorn.
Those with the zodiac sign Capricorn tend to get up at the crack of dawn, which means they are also first to go to bed.
While they tend to manage a whole night’s sleep in theory, that doesn’t mean they aren’t prone to dreams.
Capricorns can be lucid dreamers, but you may be able to reduce their frequency with a warm bath before bed.
Aquarius are finicky sleepers.
They find out what works for them, and they must stick with it to achieve as much sleep during the night as possible.
For many, that involves working long hours, then sleeping long hours. Avoid day naps to make sure you can fall asleep at night much easier.
Some Aquarius find it helpful to watch a movie or listen to music while trying to fall asleep.
You’re playing a dangerous game if you ever try to drag a Pisces out of bed in the morning. If lacking sleep, a Pisces can sleep for upwards of 10 hours with no problems at all.
They also tend to love living through their subconscious and dreams and use their sleeping time as a way to see the world in a different way.
Essentially, Pisces are dreamers, semi-psychic empaths, and imaginers who love to imagine the world is much more beautiful and vibrant than it is. It can sometimes be a harsh awakening for them when they arise to a world that seems a lot bleaker than the one they just left.
I should also mention some accessories you may need with your mattress to optimize your sleep experience:
Box Spring - A sturdy foundation often made of wood that evenly distributes the weight of the mattress so it retains its integrity and also evenly distributes the full weight throughout the bed.
Bed Frame - Usually made of either metal or wood, it's a frame that elevates the mattress off the ground. Sometimes it will require a box spring but many platform bed frames are available on which you can just put the mattress directly.
